Dive in a cage to watch sharks at the aquarium´s main tank
Sharks are some of the most spectacular creatures in the sea. We propose you to enter a cage that floats on the surface. There, diving through a regulator, you can observe sharks and other big fish in the central tank of the Roquetas de Mar Aquarium for half an hour. The cage is not fixed. We can move it to the center of the aquarium. It is not submerged but floats on the surface. As it is 1.60m high, participants can dive in and stay on the floor of the cage for the whole half hour. Here you can see the activity.
While you are in the cage, you will observe Bull, Grey, and Nurse sharks. We will observe their behavior, analyze and compare their swimming techniques, changes of direction, anatomical features, skin characteristics, looks, and much more…
In the Aquarium’s ecosystem (1,000,000 liters), sharks coexist with other large fish such as eagle rays, stingrays, amberjacks, amberjacks snappers, bream, dentex, and tropical snapper.
